[뉴스트래블=박주성 기자] Smyth가 ‘North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026’에서 북미 최고의 레스토랑으로 선정됐다.

이번 시상식은 지난 12일 미국 뉴올리언스에서 열렸으며, S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna 후원 아래 북미 미식 업계 주요 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

시카고의 Smyth는 셰프 John Shields와 Karen Urie Shields가 이끌고 있으며, 지난해 4위에서 올해 1위로 상승했다. 현지 생산자와 공급업체 네트워크를 기반으로 제철 식재료를 활용한 테이스팅 코스가 높은 평가를 받았다.

2위에는 Eight, 3위에는 Restaurant Pearl Morissette가 올랐다.

특별상 부문에서는 Emeril's의 Emeril Lagasse가 SevenRooms Icon Award를 수상했다. 뉴욕 Lysée의 Eunji Lee는 North America’s Best Pastry Chef Award를 받았다.

또 Le Bernardin과 Aldo Sohm Wine Bar의 Aldo Sohm은 North America’s Best Sommelier Award를 수상했다.

이밖에 샌프란시스코 Benu의 Corey Lee는 Chefs’ Choice Award를, Atelier Crenn은 Sustainable Restaurant Award를 받았다.

서배너 The Grey의 Mashama Bailey는 North America’s Best Female Chef Award를 수상했으며, 워싱턴 D.C. Albi는 Highest Climber Award를 받았다.
